About The Fairs
Co-founded by CollegeCouncil & the US Embassy in Oslo in 2012, College Day Scandinavia is structured in the same way as the established International College Day Germany fairs. All our events (info-fair plus presentation program & workshops) are free of charge for visitors! Exhibitors can expect a well-organized and broadly publicized recruiting event designed to make your recruiting schedule as efficient and seamless as possible. CollegeCouncil will provide participants with a travel information-sheet with suggestions for flight/rail connections between the fairs, hotel recommendations and tips for getting around in each of the fair cities.
Our Hosts
VIKTOR RYDBERG GYMNASIUM - STOCKHOLM
Viktor Rydberg Gymnasium has three upper secondary school campuses: VRG Djursholm, VRG Sundbyberg, and Campus Viktor Rydberg, where the fair is held. Campus Viktor Rydberg is located in central Stockholm and has a student body of around 1,200 upper secondary students (ages 16-19). VRG is one of Sweden’s top schools, and entrance is highly competitive. Instruction is in both Swedish and English, teaching staff is international and students benefit from numerous opportunities for international exchange (eg. Model European Parliament, Model UN). See more here.
MALMÖ BORGARSKOLA
Malmö Borgarskola is an upper secondary school with approximately 1,400 students located in central Malmö, just opposite the Malmö Castle gardens. Borgarskola students achieve excellent test results and close to 75% go on to university. Many teachers at Malmö Borgarskola have won teaching awards, including the “Ingvar Lindqvistpriset” for best teacher in Sweden. The school houses Education UK as well as EducationUSA advising centers. Students can apply to be part of the Student Corps Sweden as part of their IB Diploma program.
EUROPEAN SCHOOL OF COPENHAGEN
The European School of Copenhagen is an Accredited European School and part of the European School Network, which focuses on multilingualism & multiculturalism. Academic standards at European Schools are considered to be high. Graduates receive the European Baccalaureate (more info here). Students learn in a primary language (English, Danish or French) and up to 3 additional foreign languages, and can participate in multiple student exchange programs. The school is very centrally located in Copenhagen’s Carlsberg city district and is easily accessible by transit.
Katedralskolan Lund
Katedralskolan Lund, founded in 1085, is Scandinavia’s oldest school and currently educates around 1,500 students aged 16-19. The school offers Natural Science, Social Science, Economics and IB programmes, along with a nationally unique spetsutbildning (honours program) in History. Admission to the school is selective: students must submit an application and meet academic entry criteria in order to enroll, even for the national programmes. Katedralskolan’s historic campus is located in Lund’s city centre and the school collaborates closely with universities, businesses, non-profit organizations and cultural institutions.
why Scandinavia?
Scandinavians generally have a:
High-level of English proficiency
Solid educational background
Strong interest in studying abroad, especially in the United States, the UK & Europe
Stable economic climate: Many Scandinavian families have the financial means to support their children while they study abroad
Did you know?
In both Sweden and Denmark, students can receive government-backed financial support to study abroad. Swedish students are entitled to the same grants and loans whether they study in Sweden or overseas - plus an additional loan to help cover tuition (CSN). In Denmark, state support (SU) can also be used for full study programmes abroad, provided the institution or degree is approved.
Who is welcome to exhibit?
If you offer internationally oriented study options and are looking to connect with well-prepared secondary school students from Sweden and Denmark - many of whom are fluent in English and actively planning to study abroad - we’d be happy to welcome you as an exhibitor. College Day Scandinavia welcomes a wide range of accredited, English-language higher education institutions and related organizations from around the world. Our fairs are open to:
Universities and colleges offering programmes taught in English
Specialized institutions (e.g. business schools, arts and design schools, engineering or hospitality programs)
Government and embassy-affiliated education offices
If your organization doesn’t fall into one of the categories above but you believe your offerings align with the goals of our fairs, you're still welcome to register. All such registrations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Alternatively, you’re welcome to email us first with a short description of your organization.
